I don’t smoke but if I did this song would most likely be my anthem. Redman is one my favorite M.C.’s and he completely bodied “No Church in the Wild”. I’m glad to see the Funk Doctor back at it. Too bad this song came out so late. This could have had a “Nissan, Honda, Chevy” effect on the streets.

Honestly I have never heard of Rockie Fresh before but my love for the Back To The Future trilogy put him on my radar. Seeing the delorean being driven in a music video is classic to me. Rockie wearing Nike Mag’s put his swag at 1000. The boy does his thing on “Into the future”. Check it out.

Consistency is the key to success. If you keep your eye on the prize you have nothing to worry about. You can trip and fall but when you get up you know what direction you’re going in. All roads should lead to your dreams, so stay in your lane and don’t stop until the wheels drop off. The finish line is sometimes a mirage. Most celebrities get to a certain point in their career and get relaxed. Sometimes the passion is lost or they get distracted by other projects. This leaves room for a hungrier artist to come forth and do their thing.

Diddy’s first catchphrase was “I thought I told you that we won’t stop”. Well it seems to me that he did stop for awhile now. We all know the history of Bad Boy and the mishaps Diddy had with his artists. I mean he is a great businessman, when you look at his endeavors. From Sean John, Making The Band, Rasin In The Sun (Broadway Play) & Ciroc Vodka. Sean Combs is an american hustler who knows how to make money. However without music Diddy’s flare is some what dimmed. He is still putting out music but the hunger is gone. At one point Diddy had the most #1 songs on the Billboard Rap Charts at once. As of recently Drake surpassed him with 11 songs.

Well however you look at it Diddy will never fall off. He is a referee in this game of players. With new artists such as Dirty Money, Red Cafe & now French Montana, he is paving his way back to the top. Its funny to me because Lil Wayne today is what Diddy was in the late 90′s. I remember when every hot record that I would spin had that Bad Boy logo on it. Now its Young Money, I guess its just the Changing of the Guards.

Marvel has done their thing with all the movies leading up to The Avengers. I know without a doubt the May 4th release date will be a blockbuster event. Just watching this teaser gets me hype to the point where I want to watch all the previous movies. Hopefully they get the part of the Hulk right. That is the only movie that didn’t fall in sync with the others, as far as sales goes. I really didn’t have a problem with the way Edward Norton played the gamma ray’d Hero. Mark Ruffalo will reprise the role as Bruce Banner in The Avengers. I know that the studios are already in negotiations regarding the sequel. I can’t blame them.. I want to see The Avengers Part 2 also. Lol.

I get furious when I see young’ns disrespect the elders. For one there would be no you without an elder. In hip hop there is a lack of respect when it comes to honoring the ones that came first. Even when I was young I knew that the O.G. dudes knew who was real. I would feel honored to get blessed with knowledge by someone that went thru something I wanted clarity on. So this leads me back to hip hop. I feel an obligation to just teach the younger generation on hip hop. The direction that it’s goin in is crazy.

I recently had a discussion with my two of my friends the other day. One of my friends is my age and the other is way younger. Just having this discussion opened my eyes even more to where the younger generation is headed. Okay, everybody is entitled to their opinion and I understand that my favorite artist and someones else’s would be different. However when you don’t have the knowledge of what you’re talking about you just sound and look dumb. Its 2012 and I guess if you are 20 years old, when “Illmatic” came out you were 2 years old. So me trying to tell you Nas is one of the best rappers in the game you wouldn’t understand. Instead of listening I get wise crack remarks about Nas and how Bow Wow is more relevant then Nas will ever be. LOL. REALLY.

This is where I draw the line and for the record I like Bow Wow. However comparing both Nas & Bow Wow in the same sentence would start a fight in any barbershop in NYC. For me to do so I would have to be on “Blue Magic” straight from the 70s. This is why I feel a need “To kick the truth to the young black youth“. Little do they know their favorite rapper’s rapper is Nas. He is revered in the hip hop community as the best. If you don’t believe me google it. Lol. I could go on about who is wack and who is not but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Hip hop is built off the debate of ranking artists… but do your homework first or ask an elder before you utter dumb sh*t.

So many relationships have ended on reality TV shows. Whether it’s a celebrity or an ordinary couple that just wanted to be on TV. You can never have a relationship and let in the public then expect it to stay real. These networks just feed on people watching other people’s lives get destroyed…just to sell a commercial slot to the highest bidder. Let Kimbella get beat up, Let Kim Kardashian cry, or better yet let the bad girls paint pictures to younger women on how to be a lady (yeah right). The producers and cameramen are to blame for fights and controversy on these shows.

I do find myself watching these shows from time to time. I really don’t get anything from it. I remember when shows where scripted and you knew they were. Now its like “Hmmm ok”. I’m a realist so when I see Kim Kardashian walk into a room and say “We have to talk” and after a long pause… I say “C’mon son”(insert Ed Lover smirk here). Normal conversation doesn’t happen like that. I know its all for T.V., so that means its not REAL.

Busta Rhymes released his new video called Why Stop Now. The director is none only then Hype Williams. The video is off the hook. Only the elite can make a video with the great HYPE and pull it off. Chemistry has been in the forefront with Busta and Hype since videos like Put Your Hands Where My I Eyes Can See, Dangerous and Whats It Gonna Be. With Hype’s creativity and Bustas animated ways (not to mention Chris Brown giving the track left & right hooks like a boxing match), this video is a sure T.K.O.

Well, that’s how I view hip hop in this day and time. It seems that no one wants to know the first half of hip hop.

How could you listen to songs like “Shot Caller” French Montana and not know that the sample came from Lords Of The Underground’s “Funky Child”. Some people may say damn your old because no one knows that. If you’re a true hip hop fan you would do your research. This new generation of hip hop heads either doesn’t care about  where the culture came from or where it’s going.

I sent a tweet out randomly the other day saying “On the road to riches and Diamond rings…..”

I left it blank to see what my followers would say. They replied “Fly niggas do fly things” from Wiz Khalifa Feat. Curren$y. lol. are you serious. Not one person replied with “Real niggas do real things” from Notorious B.I.G. . I may sound like I’m ranting about Bullsh*t but if you don’t know where you came from you then you don’t know where you going.

Do your research people.

I have to add that I don’t have any problem with Wiz khalifa or French Montana both artist & they’re songs are great in their own right.

These are just my thoughts.
